The Shore. It was where Oliver had been sitting for the past hour. He was mesmerized by the crashing waves and payed no attention to the few familys milling around. The waves were beautiful. The ocean was blue here like nowhere he had seen before.
And sand had found its way to places uncomfortable for the common man.
Oliver moved to shake it loose, but when that only seemed to make it worse, he broke his stare from the ocean. Standing up, he tried to pull at his swim trunks and shake the sand loose. That didn't seem to be working. He had one other option, but he didn't really want to get wet. But for the sake of his "man parts" he would do anything. Oliver ran into the ocean, deep enough to hide his lower half and keep his footing. He pulled off his trunks and drug them through the water, as well as getting sand out from the crevices of his body. Pleased, he tried to get his shorts back on. Unfortunately they didn't want to cooperate and kept trying to float up and away. Cursing loudly at his shorts and the sand, he forced them back on. As he came out of the water a few mothers were staring at him. "What? He asked loudly. They quickly turned away. It wasn't like they hadn't ever gotten sand in ,well, places, he thought.

Mercedes was helping one of the younger kids get on their surf board when she heard someone cursing. She looked over to see a man having some troubles with his swim trunks. With a small chuckle she finished up with the kid and then made her way over. the poor guy was getting death glares by the mothers there. Well people cursed all the time its not like it was a no cussing zone. Its a free country.
"having troubles?" She gave him a little playful wink and a teasing look. She was wearing a black bikini. (that was awful i know)
She wondered briefly if he knew how to surf, and that maybe if not, she could teach him. Well she couldnt help it, she loved surfing, why do you thik she was an instructor. She had her hair pulled back, some loose sun kissed blond strands sticking to the back of her neck and her forhead. She brushed it back from her face as she sheilded her eyes from the sun to look at him.

Oliver pulled at his shorts, still feeling sand. He squinted at the person who appeared. He hadn't realized anyone was actually that close around. Or maybe he had just been cursing too loud? Oops. He smiled back at the girl who was wearing a very nice bikini, he thought. "Just a tad. Sand in places sand should never be." Oliver grinned. He came out of the surf, trying to shake the sand off of his foot. "I love the beach, but I hate the sand." He flashed her a charming smile and held out his hand. "The name's Oliver. Who might you be?"

She grinned and nodded. 'yes thatll happen"She said, "Its one of the downfalls to he beach, but i can take a little sand in places if I get to enjoy the beach"she nodded as she walked closer to him, she was now a few feet from him.
She gave him a bigger smile as he introduced himself and she shook his hand back. "Nice to meet you Oliver, Im Mercedes"She said, "You an islander or...?"She asked curious, he looked like he could be one of the resorters but you never know.

Oliver shook his head." No, not an islander, just here on an extended vacation." For how long, he wasn't sure. "It's nice to meet you Mercedes." He dropped his hand back to his side. "I can understand a little sand for the pleasure of the beach, but believe me, the sand I had wasn't worth it." He took another step closer, not realising that she had stepped closer as well. "So what brings you to this beautiful island? Are you on vacation also?" Oliver was quite interested in the young girl standing in front of him.

She laughed again and then pointed to a building. "They have a sprayer up there if youd like"she said as she looked back at him before crossing her arms. So he was a vacationer. He had to be from the resort, he didnt look to be with anyone and usually people who were visiting others, was generally with them.
"Me? Im an Islander"she nodded, "I teach people how to surf"she said and then nodded over to a group of kids who were now trying on their own. "Of all ages... do you know how to surf?"she asked him. "Or I should ask. Are you interested?'she gave him a pretty smile as she waited for his answer.

"I don't think that sprayer would have helped the sand inside my trunks." Oliver replied, laughing lightly. "And I wouldn't want to expose myself to the kids." He shook his head once again, looking down. He shouldn't have done that becuase he caught site of her gorgeous legs.
Oliver had to force himself to bring his gaze back to her face. "No, I don't surf. I tried once but my instructer said I had no talent whatsoever." He shrugged it off. "It might be fun to take it up again though." He smiled kindly at her.

She chuckled putting a hand over her mouth as she shook her head. "oh no no no.."She said, "they have inside sprayers, like showers, you know"She said her bluegreen eyes sparkled a bit with laughter. Well he seemed fun, adorable. A little older then her, but she never really cared about age when it came to enjoying each others company.
"Oh? Well I think everyone has potential, maybe your instructor just wasnt very good at instrucing"she nodded and then smiled again as he commented about possibly trying again. "You should, I could teach you. Theres me and a few more that do instructing. I do the beginners course pretty mcuh"she nodded, "Im better with patience so they figured Id be better off witht hat, but I like it"She nodded.

"Ahh, then why didn't you say so. I could have saved myself that embarrassment." Oliver grinned again. His shorts wouldn't have tryed to float away either.
"Lessons sound fun. I would definitely be a beginner, probably forever." Oliver didn't really have too much balance, but hopefully she could teach him. "You can count me in." He laughed lightly, hoping the surfing lessons would help him figure out how to push her buttons. Oliver loved to push buttons, he couldn't help it. He found a joyous thirll in it.

She shrugged her hands splaying out from her body as she did so. "Well.. ''She said, "I tried'She said and laughed.
Good!"She said gald to have another student. "Your first lesson will be tomorrow around.. this same time. Sound good?"She asked. Well he might have other things he had to do, you never know. Even if this is suppose to be for vacation, he could have a whoel set of stuff planned.
Sorry that was awful))

Oliver nodded."That sounds great." He pulled at his pants once again. Stupid sand. "I think the sand has fallen in love with me. " He tried to move around a bit, which helped momentarily. "Sorry about that. But the lessons sound good and tomorrow would be a great day to have them." He hadn't had hardly anything planned. He was just lounging around.
"What's your rate?" That sounded funny the moment it came out. He stuttered slightly. "I..I mean, how much do you charge for your services?" And that was even worse. "Dammnit!" He cursed himself. "How much are surf lessons?"
